We told the kids!!!

We had been waiting to tell the kids because we didn't want any unnecesary disappointment. However, with church tomorrow, we didn't want them to hear it from somewhere else.
Shy right away knew that it would mean moving away from family and friends, and was not happy. As the day's gone on, she's adjusted to the idea, and is excited about several prospects. First of all, we agreed to allow her to have a fully monitored Facebook page, to allow contact with her cousins, and friends. Then we're talking about getting a dog when we get there. Everyone loves a puppy ;) Finally, the cooler temps are appealing to Shy. She's always the first one to whine, "I'm HOOOOTTT!!"
The boys didn't care. They're to young to really grasp all that this move will entail.

Ahhhhh!!!

Two days ago my world got turned upside down. My husband, who's been out of work for nearly 6 months, got a job offer in Alaska! I was surprised that there was genuine consideration in accepting the offer, even more shocked when he decided to take the job. We have 4 kids that we're adopting from fostercare. They've been with us for 3 years, and we're in the final stages of the process. However, the adoption won't be final for at least 4 months. Until then, we cannot move the kids out of state. So this means that for at least 4 months, while Steve's in Alaska, I'll be single mom-ing it! So again, I say, AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
